Whilst a relatively new addition to the Bayside sporting landscape, the Bayside hockey club has been in existence in some form for 38 years. In 2010 the members voted to shift from it’s base in Ashwood to it’s current location at Brighton Secondary College.
This move to Bayside represents the clubs 1st true home base having shared grounds previously as a sub tenant to competing clubs. The clubs arrival also delivered Bayside it’s only 100% based hockey club within the Bayside area for the 1st time in 5 years.
The decision to move was triggered mainly by the location of the majority of it’s members who live within the local area. The club currently fields 5 senior sides and is in the progress of finalising it’s junior development plan in preparation for launching a junior section in 2012 to compliment it’s flourishing men’s & women’s sections.
This business plan highlights opportunities uncovered via the recent review of Bayside’s “On & Off Field” activities undertaken by the committee.
This 5 year plan has been developed to create a vision, set a new direction and guide decision making to ensure the Bayside Hockey Club becomes a strong and successful club for years to come across all possible measures.
I am very excited about this next phase of our history but like any such document it will only be as good as it’s execution. The challenge is to have all Bayside Hockey Club stakeholders embrace the 5 year plan and deliver against it’s goals.
I look forward to working with the committee, members, supporters, sponsors and outside stakeholders to meet our mutual goals.
Yours sincerely,
Stuart Campbell
