BHC Volunteer Roster 2019

At the club we have introduced a volunteer roster system for all senior members to help deliver the best game day experience for everyone. This will help spread the workload on game days when setting up, running the BBQ and cake stall when required and packing up. It may mean turning up a little early, staying a bit later or perhaps helping out on a day that you are not required to play.

Also, BHC organises several club events and fundraisers outside of game days and need help from its members to facilitate these. Each member will be rostered to an event outside of game days to help the event coordinator when requested.

The duties are fairly simple and the committee will be available to assist and walk you through the process. This is an opportunity to help your team mates and meet fellow club members. We’re one club and all need to give a little back to the club that supports you.

What to do if I cannot perform my duties...

Swap with another club member – you can swap with any other member on a date that suits you. Remember this is a swap, you will still be required to complete duties on another day or event.

I can’t find anyone to swap with me...

Ask a family member, a friend or partner to help you out. It is your responsibility to find a replacement.

Why is volunteering important?

When you look at the reasons why volunteering is important, it’s not only about the impacts we can make in the lives of others, but the role it can play in making us more tolerant individuals and giving towards our community. Each of us should be willing to offer our own time and expect nothing in return. But the truth is that volunteering will bring a world of rewards you might never have expected. So exactly why is volunteering important? The benefits of volunteering are well documented, from the positive impacts on affected communities to the advantages it brings to participating individuals. Which is why some clubs and organisations now make volunteering a compulsory requirement for their members. Many developing clubs lack the money and resources to support their members, while people within your own backyard may be going through hardship on a daily basis. Which is why we ask all members to do their bit, and give little for huge return.

One club. One love.
