Junior State Championships (JSC)
The Junior State Championships are a multi day annual event run by Hockey Victoria. Players in each age group; U12’s, 14’s & 16’s; can nominate to attend a trial for selection into the Southern Sharks teams. If selected, players will attend training sessions with their respective Sharks teams.
Sharks JSC is an incredible opportunity — from the friendships formed, to elite coaching, skill development, and exposure to a higher level of hockey. It truly is a memorable experience for everyone involved.
The U12 competitions are set to be hockey 5's format again this year with some alterations which HV will advise in due course.

BPS will be running training sessions 4 weeks prior to the trials to support players to be ready for the trialing. These sessions will start the week beginning Tuesday 3rd March at Brighton Secondary College, 5:30-7pm for all relevant age groups.

U12 Trials – Sunday, 19 April 2026

U12 Girls: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
U14 Trials – Sunday, 29 March 2026
📍 Bayside Saints Hockey Club
U14 Boys: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
U14 Girls: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
U16 Trials – Sunday, 29 March 2026
📍 Southern Hockey Club
U16 Boys: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
U16 Girls: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Key 2026 Championship Dates:
In 2026, the Junior State Championships will be held at the State Netball Hockey Centre Parkville & Footscray Hockey Centre.

Under 14 & Under 16 Boys & Girls - Friday, 3rd July – Sunday, 5th July 2026 at State Netball Hockey Centre & Footscray Hockey Centre (teams will play across both venues)
